One of my favorite "fashion" films is "Imitation of Life" made in 1959. Lana Turner portrays a struggling actress who becomes famous. Her wardrobe was designed by Jean Louis. He designed wardrobes for many award winning Hollywood films and for famous women of that era. The film also shows the racial discrimination of the time so it's not just about fashion.
