In Celebration of the Cymbidium Orchid

The first collage is how I planned to style this pumpkin colored Zac Posen evening gown. The orange Cymbidium Orchid was the inspiration for this Style Challenge. I thought the evening gown had design elements that looked similar to the flower. In addition to color I always try to find gowns and flowers with similarities in their designs. I thought the peplum on the gown looked similar to the petals of the flower. Of course the color appears to be very close too. I chose the pearl, diamond and gold crisscross design earrings to repeat the crisscross design on the gown at the neckline and the waist. I also thought the gold was similar to the color of the gown and the white of the pearls picked up the white center of the flower. I chose the black evening bag with the gold frame and orange stones to pick up on the black color on the flower. I had toyed with the idea of selecting a few accessories in leopard print to pick up that design in the flower. I decided not to confuse my Lovely Readers since they were not allowed to see the flower. I chose the black high heels to coordinate with the evening bag. I chose the gold and pearl cuff bracelet to coordinate with the earrings.
The second collage was styled by my Lovely Readers without knowing what flower had inspired me. I think they did a fabulous job  bringing out the best in this evening gown.
I appreciate them playing along on my Kentucky Fashion Style Challenges. 🧡
