I like the idea of painting the back of closet shelving a bright, pretty color. Having plenty of light is important so you can see color easily too. Adding hooks on the outside of shelving gives you places to hang clothing while you coordinate outfits. They are handy for hanging up dry cleaning until you can put everything on good hangers.
